critical queer thinking and self-reflection

revised queerPhilosophy objectives (in flux)

This is a reminder of the directions that queerPhilosophy is presently heading. The extent to which these particular directions will be followed in the future will depend on what niches are already adequately filled by other projects/organizations. The magazine is particularly focused on #1, #3, and #6.

1. help to bridge 'queer theory' with 'queer practice'

2. act as a think tank for queer issues, tackling issues faced by lgbtq individuals and organizations, and making policy recommendations to appropriate organizations

3. make queer-philosophical issues known and accessible to the lgbtq community

4. actively provide a non-heterocentric perspective on present world issues and events

5. provide the lgbtq community with arguments and counter-arguments against homophobic or heterocentric ideologies

6. address and encourage discussion of issues internal to the lgbtq community.

note: there is definitely overlap between these objectives.
