critical queer thinking and self-reflection

on that note... (the future of queerPhilosophy)

(This continues from the comment I posted in reply to "We suck" (a fine observation indeed)).

on that note... if there /is/ someone that would like to contribute something to the queerPhilosophy publication (which probably won't be ready until Jan 2007), please let me know. I will be posting to freelance job boards (places like guru.com) trying to find the people I need to get this together. I can offer some compensation (so people appreciate how serious I am), but the compensation is somewhat symbolic (to show my appreciation and seriousness, not to provide a wage one can live off of).

As far as the type/style of content... the theme should be bringing 'queer theory' to 'queer practice' and vice versa. For example (off the top of my head), how should identities like gay/lesbian/male/female/trans/etc be dealt with (practically) if (in theory) these identities are less-than-ideal boxes people are fit into. How can we strike a balance between preserving individuality (avoiding stereotyping) while providing the community that these labels help create? I'm sure there are lot of directions one could take things from here. It may or may not be a good start it is really just an example :).

cheers,

- meku.
