New forum topics are now displayed on the main page (http://www.queerphilosophy.com).
I hope this will (a) make the main page less boring and (b) improve the sense of community on the site (every user is involved in providing "main" content for the site).

please also note that...
... comments are not displayed on the main page. This would get confusing because of the number of comments, and because the comments don't display that which they are commenting on.
A comment without context on a main page would be pretty silly!
